Just found a long list of sources for stock images. I can’t say as I’ve checked them out (and I’m a big fan of iStockPhoto whose prices I find quite reasonable), but thought I’d pass it along.
Interviewed at Trainers Talk Tech on synchronous e-learning
I had the honor and pleasure of being interviewed by Thomas Toth (Twitter @ttoth) to talk about synchronous e-learning. Thomas has legitimate tenure in the e-learning space and a fresh enthusiasm that was a lot of fun to interact with.
You can catch the podcast at his blog, Trainers Talk Tech. And you should check out Thomas’ work… he gets it.
Links to calculators
As I’ve oft noted, every business model is unique… in yesterday’s event we had audience members in the web seminar from public and private sectors, from small businesses to Fortune 50 companies, and with different audience types (internal sales or HR training vs. external product/customer training).
Problem: trying to come up with a one-size-fits-all calculator to determine ROI would not have served anyone too well.
As promised, however, here are the two known online calculators we are aware of that compare online to offline. They should help you jumpstart thinking about how to get to your own calculations of how moving training online will impact help your organization.

Isolate. Quantify. Monetize. Calculate ROI.
Run, don’t walk
I read a LOT of books on presenting and presentations, and one day perhaps I’ll get around to creating an annotated bibilography so I can spare you owning many of the poor ones.
But you’ve got to own Beyond Bullet Points, and more importantly, go to BeyondBulletPoints.com and become a charter member of Cliff’s new resource. Run, don’t walk. It’s cheap, in a good way. Don’t read this. Go sign up.
1080 Group whitepaper wins Reader’s Choice vote
Time to be proud! And very thankful.
I have learned that a whitepaper that I wrote for Citrix Online (the GoToMeeting/Webinar wizards) was voted “Best Download of 2008″ by the readers of TrainingZone UK.
If you want to read Five Keys to Getting Started with Online Training, please support Citrix and Training Zone by grabbing it here.
Innumerable thanks to Beth, Kineon, Eric, Clare, Todd, Kelley, Kristin, Rhonda, God, my wife and kids, my mom, the 1080 Group crew, Stevie Wonder, …
Death by online slideshow
I can’t say I’ve check out a lot of ImageGenerator.net, but I saw someone in the distant past use it to create a variation of the graphic below. I wrote my own text, and feel free to rip it off.

Email stats?
Dig under the covers and EmailStatCenter is heavily influenced by the Email Experience Council, which was influenced by early member/contributor eROI.
All told, though, it’s a great idea of a resource, especially considering that it’s leaning toward being community driven. It should only get better with time.
And your charts for free…
Double love today.
Larry Chase has a solid resource called Web Digest For Marketers. Besides a great service in finding, annotating, and sharing other sites of interest, I’ve used his list before, too. It pulled above average for me.
He recently pointed out Marketing Charts, the subject of today’s Point of Interest. For the presenters in the crowd, in particular, this could help one less slide be death by bullets.
Need teaching? Debb teaches…
One quick recommendation…
I attended the seminar today of a fellow presenter, Debbie Jones. She’s delightful! AND I spend the day listening to gasps about me that said, “I wish I knew that years ago!”
Promote your event
Looking for a big time saver when promoting an event?
Full Calendar looks interesting.
I haven’t had occassion to use them myself yet, so this is less a recommendation and more a roadsign. The business model makes sense, though…you could easily save more than $20 of your time by letting them aggregate all the event posting work for you.
If you use them, let me know your experience.
Peace
